Bracewell gives Muchall chance in Gloucestershire trial

Gloucestershire are giving a six-week trial to seam bowler Paul Muchall, brother of experienced Durham batsman Gordon Muchall.

The 25-year-old is involved in the county’s current warm-up game against Cardiff MCCU at Bristol and looking to impress director of cricket John Bracewell.

Muchall has represented Durham at Under-17 and Second XI level. He also had a spell with Kent and played for them in a Clydesdale Bank 40 game against Durham during the 2010 season.

Last season Muchall played for MCC Young Cricketers. Now he is hoping Gloucestershire will offer him a new chance to launch a career in the county game.

Bracewell said: “Paul is a player we have been keen to have a look at and his six weeks with us will give us the perfect opportunity to do that.”
