Barbados event is pre-season focus again for Warwicks

Warwickshire will be returning to Barbados for pre-season training in March where they will defend the Barbados Twenty20 Cup title they won earlier this year.

Warwickshire will play Hampshire in their first match of next year’s tournament at the Kensington Oval on March 24 with the result determining whether they will compete in the Cup or Plate competition the following day.

The Cup semi-finals and final will be played at the Kensington Oval with the Plate semi-finals shared between Carlton CC and Windward CC.

Warwickshire will also play Surrey in a two-day match at Windward from March 17 to 18, which starts four days after they arrive in the Caribbean.

A Pro 40 match between the two counties has also been pencilled in for March 20 with Warwickshire scheduled to meet Yorkshire in another 40 overs contest at Windward on March 22.

Warwickshire will return to England on March 28 and begin the new domestic season with a three-day friendly against first-class newcomers Cardiff MCCU at Edgbaston on April 6.

Last season’s County Championship runners-up begin their competitive campaign with a Championship match against Somerset at Edgbaston, starting on April 12.
