Bragg signs on at Glamorgan for another two years

Will Bragg has signed a new two-year contract with Glamorgan. The left-handed opener, who is on the cusp of 1,000 first-class runs for the county, is the latest player to have his future tied up by Glamorgan.

The 24-year-old recorded his maiden first-class century in a match-winning innings at Colwyn Bay last month, and has scored a half-century in each of his last five County Championship matches.

“I am very pleased to commit my future to Glamorgan, and excited about being part of a successful team,” said Bragg. “I’ve been pleased with my form towards the end of the season and now want to continue that into 2012 and establish myself in all forms of the game.”

Bragg joins all-rounders Michael O’Shea and Nick James who have recently signed new contracts. “We are delighted that William has taken his opportunity in the team so well and has particularly enjoyed a terrific end to the season,” said Glamorgan’s managing director of cricket Colin Metson.

“He has been playing some very exciting cricket and we look forward to him improving that form, and putting himself in contention for a place in Glamorgan’s one-day side, next season.”
