“The only thing they ever show on TV is Sachin hitting me for six. They never show the first ball I ever bowled to him, when I bowled him out. It’s quite funny – why have they forgotten that?!
I took the ball and I saw Sachin walking in. You know, I thought he was walking in very arrogantly. I don’t think he’d seen me bowl, seen how much it was swinging. He looked as if he thought he’d take me on first ball.
So I bowled him a straight ball that swung late, right into the stumps. He completely missed the line. I was literally down on my knees and that was the time I thought for the first time, ‘I’m probably going to be a star’.”
