Matt Prior is predicting a County Championship clash with Test match intensity when Sussex take on champions Nottinghamshire at Hove this week.
As well as the Ashes-winning wicketkeeper, two other members of the successful squad in Australia, off-spinner Graeme Swann and fast bowler Stuart Broad, will be in action at the PROBIZ County Ground.
Prior, who is making his first Championship appearance of the season, said: “It is a huge game and a great challenge for us as a team and for me personally against two of my England team-mates. There are going to be a lot of high-quality players involved in both sides.
“When Swanny is around there will always be a laugh or two and Broady is a big mate of mine.
“But when the game starts it will be very competitive. I will certainly not want to get out to either of them. I want to go into the first Test later this month with the bragging rights!”
Prior is also looking forward to seeing Sussex’s emerging star Luke Wells at close quarters after the 20-year-old has scored two Championship hundreds already this season.
He added: “Luke is a great talent and has done so well, especially in a pivotal position at No.3. It is great credit to everyone at the club that we have continued to produce home-grown talent over the last few years.”
