Glamorgan have lost to North West by 32 runs in the second match of the Welsh county’s pre-season tour of South Africa.
Chasing a target of 181 in their 40-over allocation at Potchefstroom, the tourists were dismissed tamely for just 148 in 38 overs.
All the Glamorgan bowlers chipped in as they restricted the South African provincial side, who won the toss, to 180 for eight.
New signing Stewart Walters claimed two wickets and the former Surrey man was also Glamorgan’s top scorer with 33, while Gareth Rees contributed 31.
But apart from Walters and Rees’ contributions the batting failed to shine, and defeat was something of a setback for Glamorgan after the county had won their opening tour game against Uganda by six wickets.
Glamorgan complete their pre-season tour with a 50-over contest against a North West Invitational XI on March 23.
