Warwickshire have confirmed that they will play Hampshire and Essex on their pre-season tour of Barbados in March.
Warwickshire will spend two weeks in the Caribbean limbering up for the new season and have taken advantage of the presence of two of their county rivals to help them prepare for it.
They will play Essex in a 40-over contest at the Windward Cricket Club on March 21 followed by a two-day fixture against Essex at Carlton’s ground from March 23 to 24.
Warwickshire will also take part in the GGI Twenty20 Cup in which they will play the full Barbados side under lights at the Kensington Oval on March 20. The GGI competition play-offs will be held at the Kensington Oval and the Three Ws Oval on March 21.
The county will also play a 40-over match against a Barbados XI at Windward CC on March 27 before they begin their homeward journey on March 29, arriving back in England the following day. Warwickshire will use the ground and net facilities at Windward for training between their matches.
On their return to England they will play one pre-season friendly against Leicestershire at Grace Road on April 1, though the counties are considering extending it to a two-day contest.
Warwickshire miss out on the opening round of County Championship matches which start on April 8 but they have a three-day first-class friendly against Durham MCCU at the Racecourse in Durham beginning on April 9.
